Book Review – Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

Brief Summary:  Celaena Sardothien is a well-trained assassin and was the best of her kind, until she made a mistake and got caught. As her punishment, she got sent to the filthy salt mines of Endovier or also known as the death camp.

One fine day, (well… not fine at all) she was offered a deal by the Crown prince of Rifthold, Dorian, to be his chosen champion to compete against 23 other criminals and assassins to be given the position of the king of Rifthold’s champion. So it was Celaena’s choice to either take up the offer and receive her freedom after 4 years or death.

Review:  I think this book deserves a round of applause. I might be late on board this hype but I did not regret my choice to pick up this book at the store after much contemplation. I love, love, love the way the characters are developed. Especially, the most obvious, Celaena.  From a cold-hearted assassin, Celaena’s transformation really surprised me. Already in the first book, we can see how she developed different feelings and emotions that she hasn’t confronted with before. For someone who’s job is to kill for money, this journey with Celaena was, to say the least, awesome!

I really really recommend bookworms who are still contemplating to pick this book up to give up the wait! I myself have regretted not reading it for a few months now, so don’t follow me!

Awesome or nah:
